Spelt burger buns for Flexi Starter

Burgers have been around for decades and for some years now, homemade burgers have been an integral part of our menus. Here is a quick and easy recipe for our Flexi Starter mould - so that you too can make really good burgers at home.

250 g spelt flour
100 ml water, lukewarm
10 g yeast, fresh
15 g sugar
15 g butter
1 Teaspoon(s) salt
1 egg
1 egg yolk
milk, for brushing
sesame, for sprinkling

Prepare the buns

Place the spelt flour in a bowl, form a hollow and crumble in the yeast and sugar. Add the water, stir gently and leave to stand for 15 minutes.

Knead everything into a dough and work in the egg, butter and salt. Then cover and leave to rise for 60 minutes.

Knead the dough well once and then cut off small pieces of dough. Shape into balls, flatten slightly and cover and leave to rise in the burger bun tin for 60 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan oven.

When the dough has risen well, carefully brush the buns with milk, sprinkle with sesame seeds and then bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
