Vegan bratwursts that you can get in the shops are quite expensive. And they usually don't taste that good, because the artificial flavours aren't your thing. If those aren't arguments for making your own sausages! We can imagine that this recipe will convince you! Good ingredients, tasty spices - give it a try!

For the vegan bratwurst

90 g tofu, smoked
160 ml water
30 ml oil
120 g saitan base
1 Teaspoon(s) onion granules
1 Teaspoon(s) vegetable stock powder
1 Teaspoon(s) mustard
1 Teaspoon(s) majoram
0.5 Teaspoon(s) salt
0.5 Teaspoon(s) nutmeg
0.5 Teaspoon(s) allspice
0.5 Teaspoon(s) paprika powder
1 Pinch(es) pepper, ground

Preparation

  • Total time: 1 h

Prepare the bratwurst

Puree the smoked tofu with water, oil and spices.

Add the seitan base and knead into a dough.

Press 50g of dough into each mould and then cover with the lid.

Then steam the closed moulds in the steamer/pot for 40 minutes.

Leave to cool briefly and then fry over a medium heat.
