Vegetarian Cheese-Sausage

Description
If you want to give up meat but love the taste of cheese, here's a nice combo! For this sausage, we use tofu and seitan and melt the delicious cheese into it. A sausage still needs to be properly seasoned! So add a few more flavours and the whole thing is ready to serve.

For the sausages

70 g tofu, smoked
130 ml water
30 ml oil
80 g cheese
90 g saitan base
0.5 Teaspoon(s) onion granules
0.5 Teaspoon(s) stock powder
0.5 Teaspoon(s) mustard
0.5 Teaspoon(s) majoram
1 Pinch(es) pepper, ground
1 Pinch(es) paprika powder
1 Pinch(es) allspice, ground
1 Pinch(es) salt
1 Pinch(es) nutmeg, ground

Preparation

  • Total time: 1 h

Prepare the cheese sausages

Puree the smoked tofu with water, oil and spices. Cut the cheese into fine cubes.

Mix the seitan base, cheese cubes and tofu mixture and knead into a dough.

Press 50g of dough per well into each mould and then cover with the lid.

Steam the closed moulds in the steamer/pot for 40 minutes.

Leave to cool briefly and then fry over a medium heat.
