Tomato-Hot Dog Buns (vegan)

Ingredients for five to six hot dog buns

Ingredients for the dough

200 ml
vegan milk
1 tsp
dry active yeast (3-4g)
20 g
290 g
1-2 tbsp
tomato paste
1 tbsp
balsamic vinegar
1 tsp
salt (8-10g)
15 g
vegan butter/margarine

Schritt für Schritt - Anleitung

Step 1

Gently heat 190ml vegan milk, stir in the sugar and yeast and leave for a few minutes.

Step 2

First add flour, then salt, tomato paste, a dash of balsamic vinegar and finally the vegan butter, stirring/kneading intensively for several minutes until a smooth dough is formed.

Step 3

Leave the dough to rise for 60 minutes, then cut off even portions depending on the size you want: Either five larger ones (approx. 100g) or six smaller ones (80-90g) and shape them into long, flat patties. Place the individual patties in their respective moulds and leave to rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C top/bottom heat.

Step 4

Brush the risen buns with the remaining vegan milk and bake for 20 minutes at 180°C top/bottom heat.
