Ingredients for 10 servings

50 g
onions
1/2 clove of
garlic
2 tblsp.
oil
1 pinch of
cinnamon
1 pinch of
pimento
1 pinch of
anise
1 tblsp.
tomato purée
2 tblsp.
white balsamic vinegar
2 tblsp.
honey
300 ml
apple juice (reduced to 100 - 150 ml)
1 small tin
tomatoes
2 tblsp.
cornflour (dissolved in water)

Schritt für Schritt - Anleitung

Step 1

Cook the apple juice until it is reduced by half. Meanwhile, cut onions and garlic in fine cubes and sauté until translucent. Soon after that add the spices and the tomato purée. 

 

Step 2

Baste onions, garlic and spices with the apple juice and add some honey and balsamic vinegar. Bring it to the boil then add some tinned tomatoes and cook everything for some minutes. 

Step 3

Purée the mixture and press them through a sieve. Let it boil again and thicken the sauce with cornflour. Finally, let the sauce cool down.
