Summer at last! The sun is shining and the terrace is waiting for you - now all you need is a cool drink to cool you down. The basis for this could be our spicy and refreshing basil syrup, with which you can create the most delicious mixtures. Very simple, but wonderfully tingling, you can spice up your mineral water with it. Whether as a shot of flavouring in a vodka lemon, gin and tonic or in sparkling wine - this syrup is simply tempting to mix. Try it out and discover your favourite creation!

For the syrup

500 g sugar
500 ml water
4 Bunch(es) basil

Preparation

Prepare the syrup

Bring the sugar and water to the boil until a clear syrup is formed. Then leave to cool slightly.

Roughly chop the basil and add to the syrup. Mix intensively (in a blender if necessary) to transfer the essential oils into the syrup.

Strain the syrup through a fine sieve and store in a jar or bottle in a cool place

preparation recommendation

For the lemonade, pour 6 cl of basil syrup into a glass with 200 ml of soda water and a good squeeze of lemon juice and top up with ice cubes.
