Description
Fried onions on burgers always have a very special flavour and, above all, a great crunch. This makes the idea of preparing a bun with fried onions already in it all the more ingenious. All you need to do is add them to the dough with a minimum of fuss. The onion-flavoured buns are super tasty. And if you like even more onions, it's best to use them again when topping the burger!

Preparing the buns

1
Put the flour in a mixing bowl, form a hollow and crumble the yeast into it. Add sugar and water and let everything stand for 15 minutes.
2
Add salt and a tablespoon of fried onions and knead everything into a dough. Add butter in coarse pieces and eggs little by little and knead everything into a smooth dough. Leave this to rest, covered, for 60 minutes.
3
Knead the dough well and form small balls. Flatten them slightly and leave them covered in the tin to rise for another 60 minutes. Large burger buns need 120 g dough, small ones 70 g dough and mini buns 35 g dough. Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat.
4
When the dough has risen well, brush the patties with oil and sprinkle with fried onions. Then bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
