Description
The Fancy Cake is a very extravagant cake. Yet it is so perfectly imperfect! It sounds strange, but that's exactly what it means. The uneven surface and the different sized pieces of cake are absolutely intentional. A small piece, a large piece - your guests have very different wishes. But they all agree on one thing: this cake looks simply fancy.

300 g marzipan paste
250 g sugar
250 g butter
1 Pack(s) vanilla sugar
5 eggs
500 g wheat flour
2 Teaspoon(s) baking powder
400 g chocolate coating

Preparation

Prepare the cake

Heat the marzipan paste together with the butter and then beat with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees top/bottom heat.

Add the eggs to the marzipan butter mixture and whisk together.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, sift and add.

Pour the batter into the fancy cake tin and bake for 50 minutes.

Meanwhile, slowly melt the chocolate coating in a bain-marie.

Turn the baked cake out of the tin. It is helpful to turn the cake out so that the arrow mark on the tin is in the middle at the top ("at 12 o'clock").

Pour the chocolate coating into the mould (the mould must be clean and cooled!) and spread evenly.

Return the cake to the mould using the marking to fit.

Pour in a little more chocolate coating along the edge if necessary. Place the cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Once the chocolate has set, turn the cake over with the help of a plate and carefully turn down the tin.
