What's the first thing that comes to mind when you have to name a classic cake? Of course, it's the fruitcake! It's incredibly popular and has been enjoyed for generations. It's very easy to make with our basic recipe. Once the moist base is ready, you can top it however you like. Strawberries, cherries, bananas or a colourful tutti frutti - it's not only the delicious result that's fun, but also the preparation!

Prepare the fruit base

Preheat the oven to 175°C circulating air. Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy.

Add the oil to the egg mixture. Then mix the flour and baking powder, sieve and stir into the mixture.

Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 15 minutes until golden.

When the fruit base has cooled, it can be spread with custard and topped with fruit of your choice.
