For the dough

125 g butter, soft
100 g sugar
1 Pack(s) vanilla sugar
3 eggs
0.5 Pack(s) baking powder
250 g wheat flour
50 ml milk
1 Tablespoon(s) cocoa powder
2 Tablespoon(s) cream

  • Cooking time: 1 h
  • Total time: 1 h 30 min

Bake the cake

1
Preheat the oven to 170°C convection oven. Separate the eggs.
2
Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar, add the egg yolks one by one and mix until creamy.
3
Mix the flour with the baking powder, sieve and stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold into the batter.
4
Pour half of the batter into the tin. Mix the cocoa with the cream and carefully stir into the other half of the batter. Pour the dark batter on top of the light batter in the tin and spiralise the two batters with a fork to create a marble-like pattern.
5
Bake the cake for 60 minutes, then cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning out of the tin. Sprinkle the finished cake with icing sugar or glaze with chocolate icing as desired.
