Today, potato pancakes are being produced non-stop! That sounds great to a real pancake connoisseur! The round potato cakes are so delicious that you can hardly get enough of them. And they are versatile too! The potato pancakes taste especially good with apple sauce. But they are also delicious with quark, salmon or as a side dish with meat. And if, contrary to expectations, you still have some left over, you can simply freeze them. That is also possible!

Ingredients for

For the pancakes

6 potatoes
1 onion
4 Tablespoon(s) wheat flour
1 egg
salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste
4 Tablespoon(s) oil for frying

  • Total time: 30 min

Prepare the pancakes

Peel the potatoes, grate finely with a drum grater and then squeeze in a towel or similar.
Finely dice the onions and mix together with the egg, flour, salt and pepper and the grated potatoes.
Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the potato pancake mixture in batches on both sides until crispy. Then drain on a kitchen towel.
Tip: Serve with homemade apple puree or, for a creative twist, simply add grated courgettes or carrots to the mixture and serve with a tasty herb curd.
