Small cinnamon buns

Description
Have you ever heard of HYGGE? In Scandinavia it is a way of life! It means a feeling of security, making yourself comfortable at home and enjoying life with all your senses. This includes candles, mulled wine and, of course, the wonderful cinnamon buns that fill the room with their wonderful scent. It's time to get really cosy!

For the dough

60 g butter
60 g sugar
200 ml milk
0.5 Teaspoon(s) cardamom
20 g yeast
400 g wheat flour
1 Pinch(es) salt

For the filling

30 g butter
50 g sugar
1 Teaspoon(s) cinnamon, ground

For the topping

1 egg
20 g sugar

Preparation

  • Cooking time: 8 min
  • Total time: 2 h

Prepare the dough

Melt the butter. Add the sugar, cardamom and milk.

When the milk is still about 35°C, crumble in the yeast and mix briefly.

Add the flour and knead into a smooth dough. Then leave to rest for 30 minutes.

Roll out the dough into an oblong sheet so that it is about the width of your hand and relatively long.

Add the filling

Melt the butter with the sugar and cinnamon and spread the mixture evenly over the dough.

Roll up the dough from the long side and cut into 2-3cm wide pieces.

Finish the buns

Place the snails on one cut side, beat an egg and brush each cinnamon bun with egg and sprinkle with sugar. Preheat the oven to 240°C top/bottom heat.

After another 30 minutes, bake the cinnamon buns in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Then remove from the tray and leave to cool under a towel.
