Nice guests have registered. They come in the afternoon for a cup of coffee. So there is hardly any time for hours of baking. But there should be a bit of pastry on the table for the cosiness. This simple walnut cake is just the thing! A few eggs, butter, flour, baking powder, milk - you might already have these standards. If not, you can get them quickly. Stir everything together, bake and serve! How nice it is to be spontaneous!

4 eggs

100 g walnut kernels

Bake the cake

Preheat the oven to 160°C convection oven. Separate the eggs and beat the whites until stiff.

Cream the butter, sugar, maple syrup and add the egg yolks one by one.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, sift and stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.

Carefully fold in the beaten egg whites.

Finally, carefully fold in the walnuts.

Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 50 minutes.
