PVD Coating surface finishing

On this page, you can find out what PVD coating is and how it makes our products even better. PVD coating stands for physical vapour deposition. It is a surface finishing technology that is used for many of our stainless steel products, such as those in the LURCH bar collection.

This is how it's done

The process itself takes place in a vacuum chamber in which metal is vaporised by gases and then applied to a conductive product (e.g. Cocktail Shaker). Unlike paints, this is not a coating, but a chemical compound on a molecular level. The process enables extremely pure, clean and durable surface bonds, which is why it is also used in the surgical and medical implant industry. The finish is absolutely harmless and safe for contact with food.

The PVD process optimises our products in terms of scratch and impact resistance and also gives them their incomparable appearance. Another advantage is that products treated with PVD coating are dishwasher-safe, as it is not a coating that could flake off over time. The result is outstanding products for professional use and everyday use.
