Gugelhupf white chocolate and rum

Fifteen men on the dead man's box...Joho! Guglhupf white chocolate rum! Don't worry, we won't take you to the Caribbean to meet the pirates. For our Guglhupf recipe, just use a dash of the pirate's drink. Consequently, your cake guests won't turn into a wild bunch, but will only taste the rum flavour. And the guglhupf is perfect for a quiet coffee with the family.

For the cake

200 g butter
200 g sugar
2 Pack(s) vanilla sugar
5 eggs
300 g wheat flour
1 Teaspoon(s) baking powder
200 ml cream
4 Tablespoon(s) rum
100 g white chocolate, chopped
1 Pinch(es) salt

Bake the gugelhupf

Preheat the oven to 180° C top/bottom heat.

Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff. Beat the sugar and butter with the vanilla sugar until fluffy. Gradually add the egg yolks and beat until smooth.

Mix and sieve the flour and baking powder. Whip the cream until stiff. Fold both alternately into the batter.

Then carefully fold in the rum, chopped chocolate and the beaten egg whites.

Bake in the preheated oven for 70 minutes. Test occasionally. After baking, leave to cool briefly in the tin and finally on a wire rack.
